Head down to Thailand!!!
"Songkran" held annually from 13th April to 15th April is no doubt the most festive season and celebrated New Year of Thailand. Its filled with fun! And of course not forgetting the bucket loads of water! Don't expect to stay dry.
Expect lots of water splashing all over the place and all over you!
Here's the good news... Although the water festival suppose to start from the 13th of April... But! Don't expect to stay dry before that, cause people are very zealous about this festival, so much that they may begin throwing water a few days before the official date.
On the first day of the Songkran Festival, Thais will gather up as a family early in the morning and make a visit to their temple.

After the service at the temple is through, Thais will spend their time with their family. A yearly family reunion event.
On the second day of the Songkran Festival which is known as "Wan Nao"
One should refrain from cursing, or acting vulgarly and no malicious deed should be committed on the Wan Nao. It's considered lucky to clean out the house of unwanted junk.
On the last day of the Songkran Festival. Now this is where the fun starts! Or... maybe it started earlier.
Thais will visit their elder relatives to perform a "Dam Hua" ceremony. Where they'll gently pour scented water on their elder's hands. Which is to show respect and love to them.
But hey........ Gently sprinkling or splashing bucket loads of water is much more fun?
In modern times the gentle pouring evolved into this *Splashy* holiday.
Maybe its a way to show that they are more loving over the years!
So!!! If you can't stand the heat this April! Head down to Thailand! and Have Fun!
P.S
Don't forget the towels and extra clothings. You need them.

In Malacca they do have a similar water festival as well as in India too.
